For each of the units:

  1. Make revision notes (mindmap, chart, bullet points) that cover all the main sections of the topic. If it's not orderly, go back through it and identify the main heading etc, or write it out again. For example, if you are making revision notes on the Cosmological argument, you should have the background to the argument, the stages in the argument, strengths, people who criticise it and what they say, and your own opinions.
  2. Using your revision notes only: go through past exam papers on each theme. Write a plan for each exam question. Put a ? next to any areas you don't think you can do easily - then look these up on the online revision guide, or in your detailed notes from class.
  3. For a selection of the past exam questions, produce proper answers to the questions. Time yourself.
  4. See if you can 'talk through' a topic in your head as though you are explaining it from scratch. Does it all make sense? Go back and check anything you've forgotten. Perhaps you could get a willing relative/friend/stranger to test you (!)
  5. If you're stuck, panicking or need anything explained, use the forum on this site, or contact me directly at John.Jennings@drummond.edin.sch.uk
